CHARACTERISTICS
Colour: ruby red with slight violet shades.
Bouquet: intense, floral, fruity and slightly spicy aroma. Warm, fairly tannic, balanced-bodied flavour with an almond aftertaste.
In the Vineyard
Montepulciano comes from vineyards with characteristically shaped Abruzzo pergola on hilly terrain with good sun exposure at an altitude between 400 and 450 meters above sea level.
In the Winery
After careful selection, the grapes are destemmed and pressed, the skins are left in contact with the wine must together with their indigenous yeast for 10/15 days at a constant temperature of 20-22°C.
Ageing
In barriques and big barrels for about 12 months and following aging in steel tanks.
Suggested uses
Grilled and baked meats, strong flavoured first courses and cured meats.
